Preparing dinner ingredients in the morning, hours before you want to think about dinner, is definitely the major downside to slow cooking. Avoid the hassle at breakfast time by prepping the stew ingredients while you cook dinner the night before. Cut up a few extra onions, peel and cut up potatoes, and sear off your meat. Then just toss everything in the cooker in the morning.
